Celebrating Nurses

It may be being present when someone is coming into this world and taking their first breath or being beside someone as they leave the world and take their last breath…nursing is a gratifying profession!

Nursing can be a very rewarding profession as one may get much satisfaction knowing that they have made a difference or contributed to saving someone’s life or made them feel better.

The hardships nurses go through must not be forgotten. From sacrificing weekends and holidays, doing shift work and working twelve hours shifts; nursing can be a challenging reward.

From having extensive medical knowledge, critical thinking skills to providing hands on care, nurses make sure that patient’s get the best around the clock care possible. Nurses wear many hats and faces as they are often put in situations when they have to put their own emotions aside in distressful situations and advocate and support their patients.

A nurse will only know another nurses experience. It is my honor to be a part of this profession and celebrate it with co-nurses internationally.

Happy International Nurses Week!
